Panchmukhi Hanuman Story

Hanuman

Panchmukhi Hanuman is one of the most famous characters from the epic Ramayana. To save Lord Ram and Laxman, Hanuman Ji took the form of Panchmukhi.

When Laxman killed Meghnadh or Indrajit, Ravana turned to one of his brothers, who was “ Ahirvana, “ to win the war. He was the king of the Patal lok. Ahirvana also got a boon from Lord Brahma that he would only get killed when anyone blew out candles in 5 directions simultaneously. He was a mighty demon.

Vibhisana was well aware of Ahiravana. He alerted Lord Ram regarding the attack. Hanuman Ji was safeguarding the room of both Lords. Ahirvana attempted several times to attack but failed. Finally, he disguised himself as the Vibhisana and entered Lord Ram and Laxman's room when they were sleeping. Ahirvana whisked away a dozing Ram and Laxman to the Patal Lok.

In search of Ram and Laxman, Hanuman ji traveled to Patal Lok. Lord Hanuman was well aware of the boon of the Ahiravana. In order to kill him, Lord Hanuman took the form of Panchmukhi. With five faces, he blew out five candles simultaneously in all directions. In this way, Lord Hanuman put an end to the Ahirvana demon and freed Lord Rama.
